Feeling Blessed In Brighton

Image
This week was fire. We have a friend named Jaqueline who is preparing to be baptized in a few weeks and we taught a lot of lessons. Honestly it felt nonstop going from one place to the next. My new companion Elder Watson is such an amazing Elder to work with and I'm helping him learn to be a Zone Leader. Honestly he is teaching me more. We went around Brighton today and had a great time.     One day this week a drunk dude followed us and was yelling at us because we wouldn't talk to him and that we were "failing our missions" lol.      Hope everyone else has a great week.

Exchanges, Beaches, And Transfers!

Hey Everyone, this week has been a blast. It was the final week of the transfer and it was very good and very HOT. We had a good amount of lessons this week and 5 of our friends came to church, which was such a blessing because the weeks before not too many were coming.      We celebrated "HOT POT night" with Elder Woodbrey because he is going home this transfer. Hot Pot is a traditional Chinese meal that involves a hot pot and a lot of food that keeps going in as food is taken out to eat. 10/10      We are teaching a Ukrainian refugee named Tatiana and prayers would be appreciated for her because she has been through a LOT. She started coming to church with one of the members and we have plans to teach her throughout the next few weeks.      I got to go on exchanges with Portuguese Elder Soma in Epsom and we had such a good time. I got to have a lesson with Sheila, who got baptized on Sunday in their area.      We did seafront...

Dykes And "Neilhorns"

Image
This week has been HOT.  Despite the cool breeze there has been zero cloud cover and temperatures have just been going up and up. Should be about the same this week as well.     This week was super fun. I had exchanges with Elder Herzog in Worthing on Tuesday. Wednesday we had interviews with the mission president. The remainder of the week we taught a few lessons and found some really cool people to start teaching from the streets.      On the street one of the days, I asked Elder Richter what animal someone graffitied on a electrical box, to which he replies "A neilhorne!" I had to correct him and tell him it was a Rhinoceros after I lost it in a fit of laughter for a few minutes. Honestly I think they should be called Neilhornes instead now.      Today we went for a hike at what's called "Devil's Dike", which is basically a big valley between some hills and it was quite nice. Looking forward to this week, as it's the last before the transf...

Innit Mate Innit Brof

Image
Elder Richter has a habit of talking nonsense whenever we go somewhere and just says the most random stuff. Cracks me up. His most common phrase of nonsense is his German accent repetition of "Innit mate Innit brof, Innit mate Innit brof" 20x over and over as we walk down the street or travel somewhere in the car. You think it would get annoying, but honestly it just makes me laugh every time.     This week we finally overcame covid and we're able to get out again and do stuff. At the beginning though we watched MLC over zoom, which was fun. There was a break for lunch and some missionaries came by and spoke to us, but we couldn't speak to them. For some reason the computer wasn't playing our sound. We resorted to having fun by writing our responses in 3 to four words on a piece of paper. Quite comical because it took some trial and error for them to ever figure out what we meant.      Today we went to a forest and hiked around a bit and had a picnic.  ...
