Christmas And A Transfer

This week has been great! We had some lessons still and met a good amount of potential friends. We even met a new friend, named Daniel on Christmas Eve and taught the Restoration and it's times like these I take a Step back and often think to myself: what is my life right now? I'm meeting a stranger in a completely different country, who is a UK Russian resident, at a park underneath a bench with a roof cover graffitied all over, with unrepeatable phrases, while it's pouring rain on Christmas Eve, teaching them about the restoration of the gospel and explaining the Book of Mormon.    These are the moments I live for! I've probably missed a ton of similar moments like that throughout my mission that would just make you smile and even laugh about it when you take the time to notice.    We had amazing Dinner appointments, and recieved lovely gifts from the members (and family: shoutout to Aunt Bebo!) we've had the privilege to serve with. Honestly the most memorable an...

T'was The Week Before Christmas

Hey Everyone!   This week has been alright. Kind of a harder week to find people to teach and meet with friends because of the last-minute Christmas rush everyone is in. But we have been teaching Roberto still and he came to church! He loved it and we are excited to keep meeting with him this week. We also had 2 other friends, Steven and Casper come to church as well.    We have had some more dinner appointments lately, which has been great. I'm kind of fed up with the quick stuff like chicken nuggets. But I'll add a pic of me cooking because I promise I eat other food that isn't frozen.     On Thursday we got to go to the temple and do a session with 2 zones! That was the best part of the week for sure and definitely an early Christmas gift. After our session we had an amazing dinner with everyone and enjoyed some much needed company, since covid precautions restricted us meeting with other missionaries in an effort to keep us safe until the temple trip....

Baptisms And Crane Operations

Laura got Baptized!! That was amazing. We got to have a dinner with her the night before her baptism and enjoyed a good meal with her son, and friend, Jim. I got to speak too at the baptism and it's nice because speaking in the Aylesbury ward comes really easy now that I've been here so long. It feels like my home. I've been here a while.      This week has really been a lot of preparation for the baptism and Thursday we had interviews with the President Thompson. Spent some time prepping a good training with the other DLs in the zone on using the scriptures and teaching in unity. It was weird because interviews were over zoom this time, but it went really well.      We had a couple great lessons this week.  We've had to drop a couple of friends, which is hard, but they aren't progressing or hasn't showed up when we plan to meet somewhere.      We had the chance to deliver some Christmas gifts in Dunstable to members who haven't been to ...

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Merry Christmas! I'm happy to say this holiday is celebrated in England , unlike Thanksgiving. Finally starting to see more decorations around town and feel the Christmas Spirit :) This week was fun. We started a new challenge in our zone called 10-2-9, which translates to being out of the flat by 10am, finding 2 potential friends, and returning to the flat at 9pm. Obviously we went back to the flat a lot of days for lunch, but we mostly hung out at the chapel if we needed to be indoors for anything. We found a lot of potential people to be taught and it was super fun.  We taught a quite a few lessons too and have been preparing our friend, Laura, for baptism this weekend! We are so stoked for her. She bore her testimony in Sacrament meeting yesterday and it was so good! We had a dinner appt with our friend Tony Tinch and he wanted a haircut, so we gave him one since we had some clippers stashed in our flat. That was a fun experience to say the least.  If you ever find yoursel...
