Short And Sweet!

Image
This week was really good. We had some miracles!    Clinton was baptized and he gave me the privilege of participating in that on my birthday!! Never expected a Birthday- Baptism on my mission, but that is an awesome, new memory.    After the baptism, some other missionaries and I went to Slam Burger to celebrate!    We had a lot of fun street finding this week and today was zone p-day!! It was a blast  we played a ton of different sports and games together.   We have a new referral we are teaching that wants to get baptized so we are excited and even meet meet with him tonight to talk about it :)   Have a great week everyone!

Here A Little, There A Little

T'was the week before Christmas     We were not really in our area this week! We had exchanges with Dunstable/Luton, so Elder Larsen and I hung out for the day, while Elder Greindl and Elder Herzog did their 3 hours of driving with an instructor to be able to drive from now on.      While I was looking in Luton I brought a Romanian Book of Mormon with me because I had enough room in my bag too. We bumped into this Romanian and he was shocked I had one and he really wanted to learn more, and now the Dunstable/Luton Elders have been teaching him. That was super cool!     On Wednesday we had interviews with the mission president and his wife and that's always amazing. We learned about asking better, more engaging questions. It is definitely a working progress; the Savior always taught in questions, so teaching with questions is a powerful thing.     Thursday we spent quite a lot of hours on the streets and had a miracle. We found a mom and daugh...

Raclette Goes On Everything!

This week was a good one. We made a couple friends, had a good amount of teaching, and went to zone conference!    For exercise in the morning, we've been messing around with a frisbee in the cold. That's been a lot of fun, except the time I set my jacket down and a woman's dog came and peed all over it.    We talked about doing role-plays differently (basically practices for different teaching situations) and we've been adjusting to them this week. It's been a lot of fun and more educational because we role-play now with different companionships across the zone and get better feedback than we often do when it's just our companions.    We are super excited about our friend Clinton, because he is looking good for baptism on the 29th of January.    We had a DA with some members and they had a Raclette Cheese grill/warmer and a ton of different foods for the cheese to go on; pickles, peppers, grapes, peaches, potatoes, steak, etc. I'm not really a ch...

Rain Or Shine, We're Gonna Grind

Image
This week has been a week on the streets. Out teaching pools in the zone have been down and we wanted to find some more interested people so we were on the streets for at least 3 hours a Day. We had a lot of success while out, but a lot of the lessons fell through which was unfortunate.    Tuesday was Super-MLC: all of the District Leaders and Zone leaders meet to council about goals and plans for the mission with the Mission President. We had a blast. I got to see and talk to some of my previous comps as well, Elder Montoya and Elder Hansen.    Wednesday was an awesome first-of-the-transfer District Council. It was a ton of fun and we came up with some great ideas and plans to be more successful in our finding and teaching efforts.   The rest of the week was just a grind, hence the email subject name, where we went finding a ton and contacted a lot of people.    On Saturday we did have DLC (District Leadership Council) with the ZLs to Council about zo...

New Year's And An Austrian

Image
Heya Everyone! Sorry but this email will be short! Played a ton of basketball today and it was a blast!!   Got a new companion on Tuesday and the next day we went to Charlie's baptism in Dunstable. It was awesome and really fun to be there. My comp is from Austria and his name is Elder Greindl. He speaks German, but his English is phenomenal.    The new missionaries covering Dunstable and Luton for us from now on also came to stay with us on Thursday and have been staying with us until their flat opens later this week.    New Year's was a BLAST. We stayed up until midnight as a mission, had a talent (more like, "talent") show that was absolutely hilarious and very entertaining, watched a movie, and then we watched the London live countdown stream. So much fun!    Our friend Clinton came to church! Big miracle. He loved it.    We have been hitting the streets for hours because our teaching pool is pretty small, now that we are handing all of o...
