Raclette Goes On Everything!

This week was a good one. We made a couple friends, had a good amount of teaching, and went to zone conference!

For exercise in the morning, we've been messing around with a frisbee in the cold. That's been a lot of fun, except the time I set my jacket down and a woman's dog came and peed all over it.

We talked about doing role-plays differently (basically practices for different teaching situations) and we've been adjusting to them this week. It's been a lot of fun and more educational because we role-play now with different companionships across the zone and get better feedback than we often do when it's just our companions.

We are super excited about our friend Clinton, because he is looking good for baptism on the 29th of January.

We had a DA with some members and they had a Raclette Cheese grill/warmer and a ton of different foods for the cheese to go on; pickles, peppers, grapes, peaches, potatoes, steak, etc. I'm not really a cheese fan, as in, know a lot about cheeses and what they go with, but I was shocked when I was enticed to keep eating peaches and grapes with cheese on them. Before my mission I thought cheese was only for sandwiches. You live and you learn.

Ward Conference was on Sunday and we had 3 friends come! That was super exciting. They all loved it, and should be coming some more :) It was also Ward Conference and the Steak President gave a talk on the importance of Church. He related an experience of a scientist testing rats at Harvard University, where they put  them in a pool of water and took them out when they started to drown at 15mins. When they recovered, they put them back in the water and they lasted close to 60hrs before they were exhausted and began to drown. He used the story as an analogy for how church is our "recharge" and gives us hope to hold on a little longer as we face the difficult challenges of life. I believe we thrive on social and SPIRITUAL interaction and just like those rats believed they would be rescued again, after they realized they were were the first time, we can be rescued too when we have that hope in Christ and His servants and lean/build upon one another's faith and testimony in church. Then we can last longer, like the rats, when we face the world because of rekindled faith and hope. I'll attach a link to a talk that is very interesting as well on this subject if you want to check it out.

We helped the Dunstable/Luton Elders move into their new flat this week as well, and we hung out with them on P-day and went to the mall. There flat us low-key niiice. They have a lot of space. We are gonna have some exchanges starting tomorrow.

Have a great week everyone!
