Love First!

Hello everyone! This week has been good. We have been staying busy with finding and teaching people.    Tuesday we got to be on a zoom with Jenny Oaks Baker, who is a phenomenal musician, as well are her kids. She is actually the daughter of Elder Oaks! She and her family played some wonderful music for the whole mission!    I have started to recognize a lot of people on the streets because I have talked to them before or see them out and about all the time.    I've been a part of several bashes this week where people just angrily disagree with anything and everything I say. Not very fun, but very good learning experiences. I'm learning that the best thing to do with verbally aggressive people is "kill them with kindness" as my mom would say. If they don't want part in what you have to share or say then loving and leaving is the best you can do.    God has helped me to not waver in my testimony though. And it's only become stronger.    W...

That's right! One transfer accomplished. For those who don't know, transfers are a period of time you stay in an area for 5-7 weeks (usually 6). When a transfer ends we get a call from the mission president or his assistants to inform us if we are moving, staying, getting new companions, becoming a trainer, etc. I have been in the Aylesbury area for 5 weeks and I will be staying and continue my training with Elder Hansen. Totally pumped because we are working very well as a companionship and getting work done. Only up from here!     This week has been great and I've learned a lot. On Tuesday we went on an exchange with the Zone leaders and I was with Elder Deda for the day. We did some service, had a lunch with a lovely sister from the Watford Ward and a man named Charles who is really interested in the church and on track to be baptized. We got some ice cream after some street finding, which was incredible!    Wednesday was a normal day, but that evening we wen...

The weeks are flying by! Staying busy is a good thing.    We had interviews this week with our mission president's, President and Sister Thompson. That was awesome. We had some good trainings while a set of Elders or Sisters had an interview. This next transfer (period of about 6 weeks when you could change areas and missionaries move around, arrive, or go home) is exciting. Can't believe it's been over a month since I came to England. Wow. I'm probably going to stay here since Elders and Sisters that are getting trained typically will be in the same area for at least 2 transfers with the same companion. But who know. Crazy things happen so never hold a missionary to it when they say they that they won't move or change companions at a transfer.    We actually had two Elders Emergency Transferred to one of the areas in our district because it was closed temporarily and needed to be reopened. It was funny when we got a call with them basically saying "hey we just...

Hey Everyone! Hope you are having a brilliant day :)   This week encompassed a lot of traveling, meetings, and work. This week has honestly flown by. Tuesday was a pretty normal day, but then that night we left and stayed with some Elders in Wembly because there was a leadership council for mission leaders, like my companion who is our district leader. So I was left with Elder Colemere while him and the Wembly elders went to the council Wednesday.    I finally got to ride the busses and we met a lot of people on the streets and invited them to learn more about Jesus Christ with us. Super fun stuff. The council lasted a really long time so we actually ended up staying another night in Wembly then zoomed off the next morning to Exchanges with the Elders in Stevenage and spent the day with them. Me and my companion had a dinner appointment with some members—a elderly lady and her 2 sons— and I was warned before we went to "beware of the splash zone". I quickly learned that o...

Going Strong

Hey, everyone! Hope you are having a fantastic day. This past week has been pretty good! We had exchanges (a day where you switch to having a zone leader [ZLs] as your companion) with the zone leaders Tuesday, which was really fun and a good learning experience. Me and the ZL I was with, spent a lot of time making goals and plans to help me become an even better missionary and it was such a help for me to work on those things this week.    We had Zone Conference (a meeting with a few zones with about 40 or so missionaries total) where we had some trainings and educational learning activities. We did a basketball free-throw shoot-out. I didn't make it that far but it was super fun to watch. Sister Thompson (our mission president's wife) made 2 shots in a row. Epic!   On Saturday we had district council, but only 2 other missionaries could make it so we just helped find people and have a good time in their area. We ate at this Mexican restaurant but guess what!? They didn't...
