Love First!

Hello everyone! This week has been good. We have been staying busy with finding and teaching people. 

 

Tuesday we got to be on a zoom with Jenny Oaks Baker, who is a phenomenal musician, as well are her kids. She is actually the daughter of Elder Oaks! She and her family played some wonderful music for the whole mission! 

 

I have started to recognize a lot of people on the streets because I have talked to them before or see them out and about all the time. 

 

I've been a part of several bashes this week where people just angrily disagree with anything and everything I say. Not very fun, but very good learning experiences. I'm learning that the best thing to do with verbally aggressive people is "kill them with kindness" as my mom would say. If they don't want part in what you have to share or say then loving and leaving is the best you can do. 

 

God has helped me to not waver in my testimony though. And it's only become stronger. 

 

We did some service this week for this lady who was actually super cool because she was in the World Special Olympics because she is paralytic. She has a whole wall covered in medals from her Olympic days. 

 

Our friend, Frank, is still coming to church and loves meeting with us. We are so pumped and excited because he amazing, so faithful, and desiring to be baptized! We are working with him to help him prepare and be fully ready as soon as possible.

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

 

The most important things in this life are those that can help us in the next! I know we can return to our Father in Heaven with true happiness and joy if we follow the Savior's example. 

 

 

P.S. I keep getting lots of friend requests from everyone back home. I have a new Facebook Account for my mission and I would accept them all, but my mission-specific rules prevent me from accepting requests outside of my mission. Sorry!
