Going Strong
Hey, everyone! Hope you are having a fantastic day. This past week has been pretty good! We had exchanges (a day where you switch to having a zone leader [ZLs] as your companion) with the zone leaders Tuesday, which was really fun and a good learning experience. Me and the ZL I was with, spent a lot of time making goals and plans to help me become an even better missionary and it was such a help for me to work on those things this week.
We had Zone Conference (a meeting with a few zones with about 40 or so missionaries total) where we had some trainings and educational learning activities. We did a basketball free-throw shoot-out. I didn't make it that far but it was super fun to watch. Sister Thompson (our mission president's wife) made 2 shots in a row. Epic!
On Saturday we had district council, but only 2 other missionaries could make it so we just helped find people and have a good time in their area. We ate at this Mexican restaurant but guess what!? They didn't have enchiladas! If you know me I will always try a Mexican restaurant's enchiladas and I was so upset. How could they even consider themselves a Mexican restaurant?? Pfft. Anyways there food was actually really good, but right before we got our lunch it started pouring rain and the restaurant started LEAKING everywhere from the ceiling by the bar. It was BAD. Honestly like little waterfalls. They had a lot on their plate to deal with. We offered to help, but the restaurant workers wouldn't let us.
The rest of the week has mostly been finding people to teach and of course teaching those we have friended. We've been busy with both of those two things quite a bit and it's been so good for me to help me grow and become a better missionary. I've felt guided by the Spirit several times throughout several of our lessons.
On Sunday we went to church in Dunstable. Elder Hansen and I were both asked to bear our testimonies and that was good. The spirit was very strong. The Dunstable ward (a name for one of our congregations that meet in one of the churches) is a bit behind the times in terms of Covid though. The other ward in Aylesbury let us sing and have classes. Dunstable is still pretty serious about Covid as of right now.
That's pretty much it. Good week. Looking forward to this one as well! Today the District is meeting to play football️!
