MTC Update #3

No way I only have 4 days left! This week has been great! To start things off, Saturday, some of the sisters said they wanted food. So a few of the Elders, including me, said we would meet outside of their dorm to bring some. We loaded a suitcase with everything we had from our stash (my companion had a TON of food) and proceeded to drag it to a table in front of their dorms. We stood around it like FBI agents and waited for them to come. It was HILARIOUS and the sister missionaries and passerbys loved it.

That night the MTC presidency allowed us to view the Stadium of Fire fireworks show from one of the training buildings. We didn't go to bed until midnight, but it was awesome and a really cool experience. The following Sunday we had the "Go and Do" Experience, which was an opportunity to ponder, pray, study, and search for truths to questions we have for 2 hours straight. It was wonderful and I got some great new insights on how to apply The Atonement of Jesus Christ more fully into my life. I highly recommend the general conference talk called "The Atonement of Jesus Christ" by Tad R. Callister.

I've Had the chance to attend the temple twice now after today and that has been such an amazing opportunity at the MTC. Attending has really helped me grow closer to my savior and understand all of the blessings he has in store.

One really cool thing me and my companion have felt inspired to do is leave napkin notes at every meal for the staff, who work so hard to provide amazing meals and amenities. Today's said "It would be a sMAC in the face if we didn't tell you how amazing your cooking skills are" (we had mac and cheese ;).

I now have my flight plans, which are to leave the MTC early in the morning to fly from Salt Lake to Chicago, and Chicago to London. I should arrive in England early Thursday morning. So exciting!!!

New arrival missionaries came Wednesday and we have an additional district added to our zone. We met them the night they got here and they seem really excited to be here and very unique and cool.

Elder Montoya pulled a prank on me: I had my nose in the scriptures (I was trying to catch up on stuff for class) and he told me to turn right into "our classroom". Next thing I know, a lot of unfamiliar classmates are staring at me and the teacher asks if I need help finding my way around. One of the sister missionaries, who wanted to push the joke further, said "He's new", so the teacher insisted she walk me to the correct class alllll before I could explain what happened. It was hilarious. Mean. But hilarious lol. GG Elder Montoya ;)

That's pretty much my week. We were also blessed to hear from a general authority, who talked a lot about how we cn be better missionaries. That, too, was very insightful. Something that I liked from his talk was "You will NEVER lose your testimony if you read from the Book of Mormon everyday." I believe that is 100% true and know it's power to help and bless our lives.

Hope everyone has a great week!

(B.O.M) 2nd Nephi, ch 31 verses 6-7:

And now, I would ask of you, my beloved brethren, wherein the Lamb of God did fulfil all righteousness in being baptized by water?

Know ye not that he was holy? But notwithstanding he being holy, he showeth unto the children of men that, according to the flesh he humbleth himself before the Father, and witnesseth unto the Father that he would be obedient unto him in keeping his commandments.
