Slam Burger Slaps!
Hello Everyone!
This week has been great. This transfer is almost over. Next Tuesday is when it ends! Insane.
Tuesday we had an exchange with the Elders from Harlow and we took Elder Goss to take his drivers test. While that was going on, me and Elder Jones did some street finding and eventually met up with the other Elders. We went to my new favorite fast food place I've visited in England! It is called Slam Burger. Slam Burger Smacks!! It's not only cheap, but super good. If you know me, you know I LOVE burgers and I give it a 10/10 as a fast food joint. The service was exquisite and one of the workers gave me a free, small shake. Enough about food.
We went on a blitz in St. Albans the next day to help the Sisters find some interested people and I had a really funny and cool experience. I was talking to this one university student and got her # because she wanted to learn more. Then a friend of hers came up and I explained why I was talking to her friend. I asked if she wanted to learn more as well, and she said yes so I got her number. Then ANOTHER friend came up and the same thing happened again. I got 3 numbers for people to start teaching in a span of 5 minutes. That was an epic miracle. After that miracle we saw some monks at the end of the street and talked to them. I can now say I've met and talked to monks and can finally take that off of the bucket list.
We mostly did a lot of finding this week and made a lot of friends. We did have a lesson with our friend, Jennifer, and she wants to be baptized! We set a date with her for Nov. 20! Exciting!!!
Thursday we accidently locked ourselves out of the chapel and went through a whole ordeal to find someone with a key to get back in that same evening.
Also there's a big Petrol (Gas) Station "crisis" right now. Honestly I have heard so many different stories on the reasons why, but the problem is that people are panicking about buying petrol for their cars and so there are huge lines of cars in all the streets for petrol. Hopefully that gets fixed soon. We luckily filled up just before it hit. It's been going on for a few days now.
This week has been great. It really has flown by. Talk to you all again soon.
Spiritual Thought:
Moroni 7:45
And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil and rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
This has been a lovely scripture I was able to memorize this week. It's helped me to remember to be kind and love others as Christ would. I know that if we all have charity we can see others the way our Father in heaven sees them.
