3 Apostles And A Brother!
This week has been AMAZING. Honestly full excitement for the conference I mentioned last week. It happened and it was better than I could have imagined!
Let's start with the beginning of the week though..
Tuesday and Wednesday were fun days because we had a good time doing some street finding and there were lots of good conversations with lots of different people. We are hoping to begin lessons with some of them soon! We ran into someone we used to teach named Salvatore both days and will have a lesson with him again this week!
Thursday was district council and we had some really good trainings and discussions. We made effective plans and gathered advice for each of our areas (little did I know that would be the last of this District...)
Back to the conference! Friday all missionaries were asked to travel by train and tube. I know I've been in England for over 3 months, but I've been spoiled and only been in a car. That was a struggle, but it wasn't as bad as it could've been. I was triple checking all our plans and information to arrive and get back to our flat. We ended up making all of our trains and tube departures and getting to the meeting just in time to prepare for Elder Cook, Elder Holland, their wives, and President Ballard. Since the conference was a dual-mission conference, the Birmingham mission joined us too, which means.....YES! I got to see my brother!!! That was such a highlight and special moment for me. It's been a long time since I've seen him, but it may be longer until the next time. We got a good hug, took some pictures, and pretty soon had to separate. So grateful for that opportunity!
The messages were so specific and special to the mission and me, personally. Their jokes were fantastic, but even more amazing was the Spirit they carried and the power in the messages they shared. I know that they are called of God, and what stuck with me was the encouragement and importance to share the gospel with everyone. Following the meeting, the England London Mission went to the Royal Albert Hall to take a picture with them and us as a mission. While we waited for them to join us for the picture, we sang hymns and captured the attention of many people walking by. It was fun to see their smiles and appreciation when they arrived to us, welcoming them with song. Following the picture, we were blessed to make it to the right train station via the tubes and board the train with 10 mins to spare before it departed. That night I received news that one of the areas would be opening up again in our zone so the district would go back to its original size of Elder Windsor, the Zone Leaders, and I. Looking forward to the changes though!
The next day we had exchanges with the zone leaders and we had the opportunity to hear the apostles and their wives speak 2 more times on Saturday and Sunday via broadcast. I had the opportunity to go to a Trunk-or-treat (I'm as shocked as you that the English celebrate Halloween too— maybe it's just me I don't know)
