1 Down, 1 To Go
Good day everyone! Happy belated Father's Day to anyone on my email list who is a father or future father. Also, Happy 1 year to me! It's been a whole year of being on my mission.
Can't believe it. Time really does fly.
This has been an interesting week with big highlights.
On Tuesday we had exchanges with the Worthing Elders, so Elder Balzen and I had a blast. We had quite an eventful day because we ended up getting locked out of the flat and I was mentally preparing myself to find shelter on the streets, but luckily a member who was a locksmith came to the rescue. Not only did he help us get into the flat, but he TAUGHT us how to get back into the flat. Before we could get in he shut the door and handed us a piece of plastic and said "You got it". Elder Balzen was an amazing locksmith apprentice and got the door unlocked after about 30 seconds. Our friend then told us 80% of England's houses and flats use the type of lock we learned to break into. Reminds me of a quote: "With great power comes great responsibility"
Thursday we had Zone Conference in East Grinstead and I got to basically celebrate my year mark a few days early by going to the London Temple. That was such an amazing experience and at the conference we learned and talked a lot about Holiness. Pretty fascinating topic. There's was a quote that was shared that I absolutely love and believe to be true:
"Greater happiness comes from greater personal holiness. The Holy Ghost speaks in a still small voice. I can hear Him when there is spiritual peace in my heart. He brings a feeling of happiness and assurance that I am becoming more Holy! Greater holiness will not come simply by asking for it. It will come by doing what is needed for God to change us."-Henry B. Eyring 2019
The rest of the week we spent a lot of time finding and talking to people on the streets. I love exploring Brighton. There is so much incredible art and surprises around the city.
Hope everyone has a great week. Love to hear from you! Drop an email. Tell me how you're doing, I'd love to hear!
