God's Plan
Hey guys! This has been another fun week.
Monday night we had our "Game Night" and we had 6 of our friends come! They had a blast and we played football. We did some service with some members on Tuesday. That morning we helped remove weeds in a member's garden and then cleaned her carpet. Later that day we ended up cutting a bunch of hedges for some other members in our ward. It was a blessing to be companions with Elder Watson, it seemed like he did just about everything because his height allowed him to reach it all.
The remainder of the week was filled with exchanges and lessons. We are really excited for 2 of our friends. One of them, named Tad, we found while walking to the church from our flat. He's been meeting with us regularly and loves attending the activities. We're trying to help him come to church now. He thinks Christianity is the best fit for him, as he's recently gained interest in the purpose of life and who God is.
Our other friend is named Adam and he is from Poland. He has been looking for a community of Christians around him, but hasn't seemed to until we bumped into him this week on the sidewalk. When we first met him he invited us over to his place right then and there to share some of our messages with him. Super cool guy!
It was fun doing exchanges with the APs; they really helped us better learn the principle of Christ-like leadership. They even made a helpful guidebook for us with a ton of great quotes and apologies. After exchanges with them we went on exchanges with the Epsom Elders and I came back to Brighton with Elder Soma. I like to say he's a miracle magnet. When we were together we went tracting in a neighborhood and found 2 families that said we could come back and share a message with them. Super exciting!
This week was really hot and we got to go without ties for 2 of the days. If it's 30⁰ C or higher we can go without them. Some of the days this week were at 29⁰. Nonetheless God is Good and I'm looking forward to seeing his hand in our work this week.
I gave a talk to the congregation on Sunday about God's Plan for us. I thought I would add a quote I shared as part of my talk:
"The Lord teaches us individually according to our capacity to learn and how we learn. Our growth is dependent on our willingness, natural curiosity, level of faith, and understanding...May we live our lives with order and seek to follow the sequence the Lord has outlined for us. We will be blessed as we look for and follow the patterns and the sequence in which the Lord teaches what’s most important to Him."
- Elder Vaiangina Sikahema
Here's a talk I love that may be helpful to anyone that may have questions about God's Plan that I really like. Check it out ;)
