The Shredded Cane

This week was super fun and full of surprises. We had Super MLC in London on Tuesday, which we barely made it in time for. Traffic was AWFUL. It's awesome to see how well the mission is doing and to council together about how we can move forward with faith.

We had exchanges and I went with Elder Johnson to his area in River Wey. We did a lot of searching and what was cool was that the last person we talked to was interested but with his girlfriend during her break at work and said he'd like to meet really soon. We thought he meant soon, as in the next few days, but we got a call after we went to the flat a couple mins later asking us to come back and teach him. That was cool and we introduced him to the Book of Mormon.

We got fed a lot this week by members which was so nice. I really enjoy this ward and the support of the members. Another miracle was that we had an appointment to visit this African Couple, where the wife was a member. We didn't know what she wanted until we got there, but she had us sit down and told us to teach her husband. We didn't really know either of them so it was kind of awkward at first because we thought we ought to get to know them to start, but then it turned into a lesson and the Spirit was so strong as we taught the Restoration. Now we have a new friend we are teaching that is super interested.

We went looking in a couple of different places this week and one night there was a crazy man with a cane that was completely shredded on the end. It had been from his harsh use of it when it touched the ground. You could hear him coming from a few dozen feet away. He randomly screamed, what sounded like French words and phrases at the top of his lungs. He came right next to us and then crossed the road and screamed French stuff with no sense that anyone or anything was around him to hear and see. Fun times.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Spiritual thought:

"Where people have that Spirit with them, we may expect harmony. The Spirit puts the testimony of truth in our hearts, which unifies those who share that testimony. The Spirit of God never generates contention. It never generates the feelings of distinctions between people which lead to strife. It leads to personal peace and a feeling of union with others. It unifies souls. A unified family, a unified Church, and a world at peace depend on unified souls”- Elder Henry B. Eyring
