Winter Wonderland
I'm back.
(What I meant to send the past 2 weeks):
First snow of the season! It's the fluffy kind that perfectly shapes into a ball or builds a snowman. This transfer has been great so far.
Writing for 2 busy weeks is hard so I'll try and sum it up. We got to celebrate early for Christmas by going to the temple. Elder Palm is a record-fast runner and so we've been going for runs in the huge cricket field next to our flat. It was fun this morning because we made a million tracks in the snow.
We have 4 Districts to work with so we've had a couple more District Councils to attend to and having a bigger zone has been so much fun. We started teaching the Cousin of one of our Recent Converts and he wants to be baptized. There's another lady named Carrie that brought her daughter to church that we have been teaching. She could use some prayers though; she's going through some big life struggles at the moment. The gospel is just what she needs!
This Week:
Christmas is around the corner. So we got into some super fun exchanges. Elder Johnson and I had a dinner appt. with a family that made one of my favorite foods: cheeseburgers.
We had some lessons with 2 new referrals and they seem promising at the moment. We spent time street contacting each other when we could this week. We confirmed a lot of people for our Church Christmas Party and a good amount turned up. One even brought a huge birthday cake that he got for his mom who also came. We ended up singing happy birthday to her. Sadly no one really knew them, so when the birthday song got to the part where you say their name it was: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO...mmmmmmmmmmmm...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. But she loved it and it was quickly forgotten. It's all good
Friday we had a mission devotional and we all gathered as a mission in Hyde Park Chapel. We got to sing together and hear some uplifting words from President and Sister Thompson. Then Alex Boyé popped in to sing some tunes. He's pretty talented. We had a Stake Christmas concert 2 days later with Alex Boyé again.
Elder Rasmussen and I also went on exchanges and I learned a lot from him. It was a good week and this one can only be better. I'm excited for Christmas and I hope you guys are too.
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
