Yes. The Church Is Open
This week has been blessed.
I'm back on the streets more than I ever was last transfer, and it feels good. My area is 70% African, and the ward is more than 50% African as well. Everybody is so kind and believes in God. The only problem is everybody works so much. It's hard to find a time to meet.
When I met Elder Roney, the missionary whom I was replacing as I came into the area, he said, "Have fun, you're teaching a family of 8 now."
On Sunday, we met with them, and sure enough, it's an amazing African family: Grandma, Mom, Dad, 4 boys, 1 girl; all eager to learn the gospel. They are super cool. Keep them in your prayers!
We went to the temple with one of our newer members, Frank, and the Bishop as well this week, and we had such a good time.
Elder Ohms is my new companion from Cedar City, Utah. He's funny, and we are having a great time. When we talk to people and explain that our chapel is covered in scaffolding (it's been undergoing some window replacing), people who have seen it are like, "Is it actually open?" Or "I didn't know there was a church under that." That's why we always have to reply, as the email title says, "Yes, it is a church, and yes, it is open."
Hope everyone else has a great week!
Moroni 10:32
"Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in Him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if you shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind, and strength, then His grace is sufficient for you, that by His grace, you may be perfect in Christ; and if, by the grace of God, you are perfect in Christ, you cannot in any way deny the power of God."
